Reflection by Jean Ackerman

Art considers the quality of the work. This particular composition is that which gives soul to those who will listen attentively with mind and heart. Its sound passes from the composer through the pianist into the very heart of the listeners. There, in the heart of the listeners, is housed the soul of the art-piece. May this Fugue in G minor set our hearts on edge, waking us up to our Dominican “contemplata” of the many faces of God

Reflections on the Triune God

*     Listen to one consistent theme, one melody, one God.

*     The thematic oneness keeps repeating throughout the composition with various nuances throughout the composition.

*     Enfolded between these thematic repetitions are images of the cosmic beauty of Creator God; images of the anguish of God our Redeemer; images of Spirit energy and passion.

Peace and Joy,

Jean Ackerman, OP
